U.S. Postal Service stamp release of Pixar in 2011
Pixar Animation Studios classics such as Toy Story, Up, Wall-E, Ratatouille, Cars and soon will be commemorated with their own unique stamp designs in 2011. Citing Pixar “exciting, strong characters and contemporary issues involving the family and friends,” U.S. Postal Service begin to circulate the “Send a hello stamps on August 19, 2011.

Through its Food Stamp Program for 2011, the United States Postal Service, explains:
Now some of the heroes are the subjects of the new and colorful Send a Hello stamps to encourage people to connect with their loved ones through the mail.Since 1986, Pixar films have extended the limits of our imagination with stories of unlikely heroes that explore the bonds of friendship and family.
19 are a natural consequence of the art of Disney stamp series issued between 2004 and 2008. Send a Hello stamps, which go on sale Aug. Originally conceived as a series of three annual publications that represents friendship, celebration, and romance, the art of Disney stamps was so popular that the Postal Service expanded to include a slew of releases in 2007 and 2008 to celebrate the imagination and magic.
Based on that success, the Postal Service was eager to work with the Walt Disney company again, the choice to explore the Disney * Pixar films, which offer interesting characters, contemporary issues and strong family involvement and friends.
This pane of 20 stamps includes five different designs featuring characters from Pixar: Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars (2006), Remy the rat and Linguini in Ratatouille (2007), Buzz Light year and two of the three-eyed green aliens from Toy Story (1995), Carl Fredricksen and Dug Up (2009), and the robot WALL • E WALL • E (2008).
Since the Academy Award for Best Animated Film was introduced in 2001, the seven Pixar movies released since then have been nominated and five of the seven have won, like Ratatouille, WALL * E and more
