STAR WARS new poster Mondo: “King’s Lead Hat” by Rob Jones
Created by Rob Jones, “King’s Lead Hat” re-imagined classic face of Darth Vader as a center of Empire. Mondo has a new poster for Star Wars set for tomorrow, 28 December, and could be its most delightfully strange so far. Jones has a fresh explanation for why he chose to go with this design as their contribution to the series, and you can read what he had to say after the jump.
The poster goes on sale tomorrow at a random time. Also after the jump you can see the poster. The edition is limited to 255 and each poster is signed and numbered by the artist. Make sure you are following @ MondoNews for the ad.The screen is 24 “x36″ metallic inks.
This is what Jones had to say about his design:
“There is a scene in Star Wars where the Grand Moff Tarkin steps in his room at the Council on the Death Star announcing the dissolution of the Imperial Senate. Their officials express concern about the ability of the emperor to maintain control star systems without this governing body. For this replica Tarkin, “Fear will keep local systems in line. The fear of this battle station.”
I refer not only to keep the body cybernetic bits of Vader, but also the active manipulation of their mind to take the dark side. With this in mind, I decided to represent Vader as a facility for the use and management of its immense natural power to malicious purposes. Vader The emperor created a weapon is no different from the Death Star in his last end, a means of generating fear among the population wide ruled. This exchange made me consider the motivation behind the construction of the Emperor of Darth Vader. An administrative tool that became the executor of the Emperor’s cruel orders. ”
