Alex Pettyfer (Am I Number 4) plays a handsome popular high school student who finds himself a beast, who has one year to find someone who loves you so you can reverse the curse. The film also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Neil Patrick Harris and Mary-Kate Olsen. Beastly will open on 18 March. The film – directed by Daniel Barnz (Phoebe in Wonderland) – is a modern reinvention of Beauty and the Beast, which puts the story in a classical school. Here’s the official plot summary for the Beast:
She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible appearance and unrecognizable faces Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone who loves him as he is – a task considered impossible.Prone to mock and humiliate classmates aggressively unattractive “which zeroes in Goth classmate Kendra, inviting her extravagant bash the school environment. Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer) has it all – looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity – and a streak of cruel mistreatment. Kendra agrees, and, true to form, beating Kyle outside in a particularly savage.
Seizing the opportunity, Kyle addict promises freedom and security of her daughter Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens) when she consents to live in the home of Kyle Brooklyn.
