Forty-one songs are in contention to receive nominations for Best Original Song at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. But I hope the Oscars, which will play the demos of each song set to the choreography poor.If it sounds like I’m giving no credit to the Academy, it’s just because I’m still bitter song snubbed Bruce Springsteen on the title of The Wrestler. Among the possible candidates are classics like “Never Say Never” The Karate Kid “and” Be the One “for the next three days.

Beverly Hills, CA (December 15, 2010) – Forty-one subjects of law-length films are candidates for nominations in the Original Song category for the 83rd Academy Awards ®, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today.
The original songs, along with the film in which each song appears, are listed below in alphabetical order by film and song title:

A DVD copy of the song clips available to members of the branch who can not attend the screening and request to see at home. If only one song that gets results, and the song receiving the next highest score will be the two candidates. A postal ballot will be provided.If two or more songs (up to five) to ensure that the results will be the nominees. After the screenings, members will determine the candidates by the midpoint voting system. On Thursday, January 6, the Academy will screen clips of each song, in random order, for voting members of the Division of Music in Los Angeles. If no song scored an average of 8.25 or greater will not be nominated in the category.
Under Academy rules, a maximum of two songs can be nominated from any one film. If more than two songs from a movie are in dispute, the two songs with the most votes will be nominated.
To be eligible, a song must consist of words and music, which are original and written specifically for the film. A clearly audible, intelligible delivery, both the substance of the lyric and melody must be used in the body of the movie or the music signal for the first time in the end credits.
The 83 Oscar nominations will be announced live on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 5:30 pm PT at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater Academy.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center ®, and televised live on ABC. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in over 200 countries worldwide
