London Film Festival Announces Line-Up

Of the total of 191 features and 113 shorts screening is the Night of the opening film, Wes Anderson FANTASTIC MR. FOX presented by the director and cast members like Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Helen McCrory. And George Clooney also be present to support their role in America’s Next Top GOAT. This year’s London Film Festival line-up of 14 to 29 October will be announced today by Artistic Director Sandra Hebron. New films that represent the new wave of American independent cinema include Sophie Barthes COLD SOULS, beeswax Bujalski Andrew, Fleischner Sam and Ben Chace WAH DO DEM, Nicholas Jasenovec HEART OF PAPER, and Suzi Yoonessi DEAR LEMON LIMAIt will also be the British premiere of John Lasseter Toy Story 2 in Disney Digital 3D.
World Premieres include Sam Taylor-Wood Closing Night Gala Nowhere Boy, and the Gala Festival of the first file, the new BFI restoration of Anthony Asquith Underground, accompanied by live music by the Prima Vista Social Club, directed by Neil Brand
The four international premieres to be presented are “45365″ Bill and Ross Turner, Celine Danhier in WHITE CITY, EXTRACT Mike Judge, and Hammerich of Ruml HEADHUNTERThe festival will also host 23 European premieres, including Jean-Pierre Jeunet Micmacs, “Scott Hicks BOYS are back and Balibo Robert Connolly and Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni of THE WELL and Lucy Bailey and Andrew Thompson MUGABE AND WHITE AFRICAN.

Among the many British directors making their feature film debut at the festival are Paul King (rabbit and the bull), Malcolm Venville (44 Inch Chest), David Morrissey (Do not worry about me), Tom Harper (THE BOOK “Scouting for Boys ), Lindy Heymann (kicks) and Blakeson J (THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREDO)The program features the work of debut directors like Tom Ford (A SINGLE MAN), Jordan Scott (cracks) and Warwick Thornton (Samson & Delilah).
British films are detection of directors as Stephen Poliakoff (GLORIOUS 39), Julien Temple (Oil City Confidential), Penny Woolcock (1 day), Paul Thomas and Matt Harlock (AMERICAN: THE STORY OF BILL HICKS), Jez Lewis (pour SU tears and walk) and Chris Atkins (Starsuckers), several of which are world premieres
