Is George Lucas trying to revive dead actors digitally?

George Lucas can go a little Dr. Frankenstein, not only in the arrogance department. Actor and director Mel Smith says Mail Online [via AICN]
“”It was the purchase of film rights to movie stars died in the hope to use computer tricks to put them all together in a film, as Orson Welles and would appear with Barbara Stanwyck stars of today.” If Lucas’s attempt to overlay the gold stars of the era of the screens of today is doomed to failure or not, Smith will be too busy to be part of it.
Lucas wrote the story and executive producer of the 1994 film Smith, Radioland murders. Hit the jump for what Smith had to say about the experience and ideas about confidence in digital effects Lucas.
This is what Smith had to say about Radioland Murders:
George does not understand the comedy, so the movie flopped. At least it taught me to use CGI. “The film was a disaster. That I thought it was horrible “George is obsessed with her and is widely used in the last two Star Wars movies -.
I would say that Lucas does not understand intentional comedy. Having Darth Vader screaming “Nooooo!” It is the unintentional-comedy gold.
Lucas just made looks even worse.I’m going to put so much effort into making the effect seem convincing that I forget little things like “history” and “character.” As digital necromancy Lucas, I think it’s a moot point as to whether it is a good idea or not, since Lucas is a horrible writer and director. This does not sully the memory of the legendary actors.
