TCA – “This is a dinosaur,” the partygoer complained
She is from an online company and is bitterly looking around at the dinner event last week on GSN Beverly Hilton patio. A few minutes after she complained about the food, name-dropped a few journalists who have been fired and is now explained how TCA has a late date for the extinction
Clearly social skills, not so hot
“Most of these people,” she says, “are dinosaurs.
There is a full size lifeguard station and games for prizes. The food is-your-own-brand mini skewers regulators. GSN The event has a theme, a beach party. The music is a mix of Beach Boys songs
GSN atmosphere is weak. Beach Boys sound and melancholy nostalgia – Brian Wilson singing “God Only Knows.” Now most of you will read this description and imagine a cheerful bright evening. And critics are pessimistic, moderate, their long faces looking like the food critic of “Ratatouille. It is not.
However, the sadness of the critics should not be a part of the budget under network cable … exactly. For this press tour, TCA actually told the networks do not worry about making a splashy impression – no need to spend more than, well, really, no need to be invited to dinner, boxed lunches are well
Due to the demise of racing limousines Spago and the replacement of-your-own sliders that reminds critics as the networks have reduced their investment in TCASo few complaints about meal portions tend to be half.
What do you remember how publications are also cutting back its commitment to send reporters to cover the tour
Every critic here has friends and colleagues who have lost their jobs. They worry that are nextDownsizing is like a horror movie villain that never fails implacable come later. Reminding them of the amazing number of layoffs in the publishing industry.
It’s a lot of symbolism to pack into a small hamburgerYes, I know.
“I just want to say that I feel every time we gather now is a mystery of Agatha Christie,” HBO spokesman Quentin Schaeffer same day, the introduction of the network session. “I wonder who will survive the year.
“And it’s great to see so many of you again,” he added, as a pretender trying to cheer up the date after verifying that you are overweight
The group’sreactions have demonstrated less sensitivity to the delicate threads live, TCA famous that often result in the Panel’s questions, ranging from journalism tocelebrity tough questions adulation of eccentrics. They’re like the guy who suddenly growsquiet hateful. Makes you worry about himCritics of this summer and locked beenpolite. Critics ignore the attempt of black humor, which is also a change. It makes you lose your rude behavior.
We’re out of the firing line, we’re safe – but only for now. “”Being here is like the films of the Second World War when the fighter pilotshave return to their base and are coming together,” said Rick Kushma Sacramento Bee. And yet … I expectsomebody means to an email for a panel to dismiss and Belik, ‘oh, no, there goes another down. “It’s a relief.
Veterinarians absent from regional papers continue to be replaced bynewcomers of dotcoms. About 200 critics and reporters were present for the cable portion, which is not very different from last year. The criticsassociation is not just an event. Their badges havechanged, however. For some members of TCA, if the press tourcontinues to survive another decade is irrelevant. Is a group of people, and TheMembers who for years have defined the press tour continue to fall away
Theywonder if all the networks that make the base of next year, and I wonder ifthey be here too. They talk about the publication of their websites and I wonder: are the sites to make money? Is it enoughCritics huddle GSN game and wait for the next tray ofappetizers to make the rounds. This was more fun when couldpretend its relationship with the networks was not symbiotic.
The Beach Boys sang: God only knows what I do without you

TCA – “Is this where Karl Rove Sat Because I do not want AIDS?.
Of the hundreds of people who have taken a turn in the ballroom of the Beverly Hilton stage final-annual Television Critics Association press tour semi, the “Family Guy” creator is probably the only one who could reach 30 nautical miles of pulling that off that joke. It’s interesting the things one can get away with saying once people have a certain expectation of your personalityThat’s Seth MacFarlane, things Startin ‘out of class.
MacFarlane panel includes producers of all Fox’s animated comedies range questions the status of “The Simpsons Movie” sequel, which MacFarlane wants to parody film after “Empire Strikes Back”, if “The Simpsons” issued wage demands could eventually sink the show. Let’s run these down
For me it is a truism that should be covered by.- MacFarlane in “Sit Down, Shut Up” stop: “The WGA is a union for writers of WGA.
- MacFarlane on why animated shows can only go animated shows: “If you put an episode of ‘Seinfeld’ after ‘The Simpsons’ to slow and lazy out of work. … The history of animation is shown that no.
- Review: “What would you say to someone in the withsomebody couch and say, ‘I can not watch this show, it’s just a cartoon?
MacFarlane: “Give him a chance to ‘Scrubs’?
- “The Simpsons” Matt Groening, creator of why not likecomputer animated films: Each of these programs are so cute human Animaland have human eyes. Irises “Whenever I watch a movie ofthose scared me – put human eyes on them … Ilike to work with the animators who can draw eyeballs as withlittle ovals circles and dots.
- A critic laughs, starting with a question: “Here is aquestion for women and people of color there,” (none) … and asks about the lack of diversity in the genus
MacFarlane: “There is something in the middle of the animation thatit is dominated by men … would have something to do with the animation also thedemographics male bias.
A lot of people in the industry recognize that it is not thesame process.I think there are still plenty of againstanimation bias. – MacFarlane in Family Guy “Emmy chances, I’d be surprised if we are in the final five.
As for other property that you would like to parody: “Do not marginalize me, but if Paramount can we do ‘Wrath of Khan” … if we do, “Sound of Music”, which would make … ['Star Wars' work], because our general public knows that movie word for word.- MacFarlane says the track “Blue Harvest”, an “Empire Strikes Back” parody, is nearing completion. The episode probably will not air until the spin-off “Cleveland” mid-season starts.
“Who knows, after” Empire “comes out, if done right, could be prepared. After the panel, MacFarlane reiterated that are serious about wanting to do “Khan”, but believes it will be an uphill battle to convince his Paramount.
- Here’s the logline of the upcoming “The Simpsons” episode written by Seth Rogen: Guy creates a superhero comics, is turned into film and Homer plays the hero. Homer gets into great shape, but when the movie is over he can not afford the more personal trainer and life falls apart. Seth plays Homer’s personal trainer. “The Simpsons” executive producer Al Jean adds that “The Simpsons” will have a parodyepisode of “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” this fall
“It will be a while before a second film. – “Simpsons” movie sequel? Noplans But at this time.”The rationale for somany years to the first film did not want to work harder,” said Groening. Not in the short term.
everyone in this room to get rich from the ‘Simpsons’. I’m happy for’ The Simpson’s “cast. He elaborated on whether the wage demands of the “cast members of” The Simpsons “could result in the demise of the series:” One of the TV why are in the air long off the air due to which is more expensive than I want. I want to be as rich and happy as any in Hollywood.- Groening said he wants to continue doing “The Simpsons,” while Fox will continue with the show.
UPDATE: “Scrubs” executive producer Bill Lawrence says, “Seth making a new cartoon Why? Many others is that I’m sure the ‘Family Guy’ spin-off will be totally different.” Oh you do things. (Lawrence goes on to note that the two are friends, and mocking is easy prey

TCA – “I am in conflict talking about NBC,” Scrubs “executive producer Bill Lawrence says
On the other hand, there is a trend in television right now, if you’re on a six orseven years and make millions of dollars that must come to end the show. We’re supposed to do eight more episodes, and I said, ‘I’d wrap in three and make a lot of money out of it, and there was plenty of interest. What was frustrating was my desire to end the show in a nice way. If I had the opportunity to make that phone call again, knowing it would be ABC, who have said ‘thank you’.”Sitting here … after having spent seven years at that network, had someone offered us seven years ago, it would have taken.
Lorenzo repeats expressed appreciation for the support that ABC has shown compared to NBCFor its debut season on ABC, “Scrubs” will be shot in high definition for the first time, and Lawrence is producing a series of online webisodes to run leading up to the debut of the network.
“I do not think that’s NBC dropping the ball, I think the difference is doing a show for a network that also produces.”It was a people pleasantsurprise network visit the set because nobodyhas fact that six or seven years,” he says.
Lawrence and Zach Braff said much more likely is the last year the star in the show
“My feeling is that this is my last year,” Braff says
“We will shoot the last, as is young ZachBraff output. “I would say it’s likely the last year Zach Braff in the series,” Lawrence agreed. [McPherson] is in favor of the idea that it’s like ‘ER’ as a comedy … we brought in some younger people in the show.
If the output Braff means that the final show is yet clear.Lawrence says Braff-less version will have to make creative senses-standing single sample, such as “Frasier” after “Cheers” ended
As for the changes to the ABC version, Lawrence says, “We’re goingto deliver the same show we have for eight years. When you hear the janitor’s name, the show is over…. The series finale has beenwritten for about four years and we have to change some references popculture.
Previous: “Scrubs” could go with different cast

TCA – ABC opened its executive meeting having Jimmy Kimmel, disguised as “Tom Weinerman of the Sarasota Herald-Star Tribune,” asking the first question from Steve McPherson
… Ted Koppel could be fired, or how does it work? Can not go to jail for that? Kimmel asked, to laughter critical. “There are rumors that ABC is actively courting Jay Leno than 11.30, is there any truth to these rumors?” Would not it be illegal? “If you were even talking to Jay Leno, would not that be like contract tampering? If you replace Jimmy Kimmel you afraid that he would do something crazy to you, or your car?
The stunt was a clever way to get some air on late night theme, and also telegraphs an underlying message about Kimmel. Despite his jokes about being worried and threatened by the possibility of hiring Leno ABC, the public course to accompany the network on the subject suggests that it is not. Whatever the closed door discussions have occurred on the subject, McPherson and Kimmel seemed to have reached an understanding that both men are, at least for now, comfortable … or Kimmel simply recognizes that proves to be a good sport is essential, regardless of your next move
Later, McPherson said other attractions in the stream of media to help engage the “Tonight Show”, while still promoting Kimmel
“Where they see at the time and Jimmy will participate in these discussions. Kimmel] show [has soared this year.”I can not believe they will allow this type are on the top of their game,” McPherson said of the NBC.
Also, since THR.com
- McPherson plays well, says it is encouraging to competitors this fall
- ABC announces fall premiere dates

TCA-In a panel for ABC’s “oh shoot let’s take a quick fall for the” competition “Opportunity Knocks,” executive producer Ashton Kutcher dispensed “Zen and the Art of Reality Show Production” to demonstrate that philosophical gems is living in the Now
You can get a very big pop, but that energy will dissolve. “[Ex.” I think you always have to have compassion before you have above. So I always try to instill some universal compassion into the shows that we do. Punk’d, Beauty and the Geek “And then every time you have been judged without mercy, which decomposes rapidly. The program of edition of the reality can be successful without hurting people.
When you get the idea for the show: “I do not think anyone has ideas. We are blessed to be able to handle the ideas in our lives.
In getting “local residents permission to film a game show:” Contrary to popular belief, the human condition is actually a good thing. If you have someone with an easy opportunity to help someone else, for the most part people will accept – as easy.
I have not searched. It’sfollowed me.And platforms you can about dothat, the more impact it can have. By becoming a producer of reality show: “This medium is a opportunityfor all of us to express our voice.
“Will I get my piece?” “And that all those actors who are kind ofbitching about reality TV taking away their money or their jobs, I think thatthere is another cake that will be fine. The players complain about the popularity of reality shows: “Haveyou never sat at a table and someone down a big cake, thedessert you really want, and what kind of start seeing peopletake parts and starts decreasing down and start you add something to get worried. And to have all thisanxiety as to whether or not you get your piece to yousee the man out of the kitchen with another cake and makes youGO, ‘Oh , fine.
And what’s really going to blow your mind is when you realize, no cake

In short, he was surprised (and for once, that is good and pleasant)The main critics of the Television Critics Association press tour, to give their initial reactions to flush the list of candidates theEmmy below.
First, here is the list of Emmy Awards
Showtime’s “Dexter” – and deservedly so surprisingly – receives an outstanding dramatic series nod. Our take: The cable is obviously very well represented. The interesting thing is that they show ratings seem to play a less important factor in receiving an Emmy nomination as ever. Ryan Seacrest, Heidi Klum, Jeff Probst, are among the host of the reality of the first category of history. Fox “Family Guy”, as expected, do short comedy series exceptional. “Survivor” was once again snubbed by the outstanding reality competition series, a category that is a carbon copy of last year’s nomsAnother wonder: Gabriel Byrne (HBO’s “In Treatment”) and Bryan Cranston (Bad, “AMC’s” Breaking) got nominated actor.
But with the likes of “Breaking Bad” and “In Treatment” represented, their absence Emmy is clearly not because it has a small audience. “The Wire” is simply a routine hard to see. Brilliantly written, yes. The most critical complaint: “The Wire” was snubbed. Emmy is to honor excellence, but it is difficult to give a show of respect, but do not really like to seeBut television is escapism and “The Wire” universe is not a pleasant place to pass the time.
Mandel, arguably contributes more to the success of “Deal or No Deal” than the other candidates for the show – which is on the screen all the time. But that’s what makes his performance so fundamental. “Agreement” is silly and simple, yes. To find endless variations in the presentation of the same statistics over and over again while keeping the audience interest is not easyTo commit a second act of sacrilege Emmy, we will defend one of the most mocked in the list: Howie Mandel, host category created for the new reality.
This means not deserve an Emmy Howie Mandel “The Wire” is not only that both decisions are defensible Academy
Here is the critical
And ‘Damages’ getting with FX series nomination for the first time, I would say it was a good morning for basic cable.”Now not only has most of the nominees of the cable series” Mad Men “, but another original, ‘Breaking Bad’, was four, only one less than the most-nominated HBO series. – “I thought it was an amazing year for the AMC, a little more than a year ago was just the classic movie channel did not even have that many classics,” said Ellen Gray, Philadelphia Daily News. Talk about your Cinderella stories.
Tim Goodman, Matt Roush, Rick Kushma and lots of links after the jump
There are plenty ofsurprisingly unstuffy nominations and Mad Men, ” Dexter ”, or Bryan Cranston, Gabriel Byrne and Jon Hamm. In short, there is nothing that makes me want to scream, except that cheated “thewire ‘again. And even ifthey was the usual address to be mesmerized by movie stars forThe dramatic actresses are women, remains a good group. “The stranger on the right is that nominations are not bad,” says Rick Kushma Sacramento Bee. – “Pretty good, actually, all that considered and’Damages.
Finally, it is good to see votersremember ‘Pushing Daisies’.That ‘Breaking Bad’ was in the Emmy voterradar is, in itself, open your eyes. – “Obviously, the ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Damages’ Lance weresurprising – maybe not for ‘Mad Men’ because there were rumors suchtremendous,” e-mail Tim Goodman, San Francisco Chronicle. It is borderline criminal at this point. Otherpleasant surprises for me included ‘Dexter’ nominations and the’Damages’ Actor nods. I was less surprised, but – asalways – of ‘. Wire “disturbed by the continued snub A writingnomination not enough. “But for the huge shock that would have to say that the nomination BryanCranston for ‘Breaking Bad’, which is much too deservedbut absolutely stunning.
But you can not deny and the entertainment value of quality both of ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Damages.”I think someone should have told voters Emmy Mad Men actually airs on HBO (of course it appears to do), given how well he did. – “I am delighted that the Emmys opened the door for all basic cable this year,” writes Matt Roush, TV Guide.
“I felt rejuvenated, and it is refreshing to see the Emmys take note. I was sure that the program was too” out there “and twisted them, but ‘Dexter’ was brilliant, and so was Michael C. Hall, and good for the Emmys.I also was surprised that ‘Dexter’ made the cut. Roush is: jazzed ‘Lost’ back in the mix again for your brilliant comeback after the season and snubbed since winning his first prize in the first season of her.
Perhaps because so few episodes occurred and has not been seen late last year, when it was closed by the strike. Out of sight, out of mind. “Right now, I am resigned to the fact that Hollywood considers legal” some kind “masterpiece of Boston. “I also wonder if the strike hurt the most recent series on the network. I have to wonder if the Emmy voters’ The Wire ‘and’ FNL are perhaps the documentary. They feel so real maybe the voters do not understand that writing and acting was real going on. “Really?”), And in this case, out of touch.’Pushing Daisies’ won an impressive 12 nominations, but not the best comedy (the final season of ‘Entourage’? The fact that he receives a nomination, while ‘The Wire’ and ‘Friday Night Lights’ again beg to cloud the otherwise process worked quite well this year.
In addition, critical reactions THR.com …. THR: Emmy reality is a repeat of last year – unless the host category … and here is Diane Holloway, “Emmys ignore ‘Friday Night Lights’ … again!” … Aaron Barnhart writes “the saddest words in the English language, from the Emmy package:” This is the first Emmy nomination, Howie Mandel. ‘”

TCA – CBS entertainment president detailed the habitual nature that will fill the void left by the departure of Billy Petersen of “CSI” – a scientist serial murderer is a DNA.
“Strategically we have been talking about this for quite some time,” CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler says. “With Billy, I think part of it was informed by the new character you created. I do not replace Billy, but visit will add elements to the show that really going to strengthen and contribute to the alchemy of the show .
“He is a doctor, a scientist who has a very interesting DNA that is going to inform the duality of the character. Do not come immediately in the head, but he has an interesting genetic profile in some sort of medical contexts, they have noticed that many serial murderers have that same genetic profile. “It created a great character,” he continues. And this man knows himself and is a journey to discover who his true character will ultimately become. He is a stranger who comes into the CSI unit.
Tassler said Petersen will overlap with the new character a few episodesThe character did not have previously acted in any typical serial murderer / homicidal impulses, Tassler clear. No actor has been cast in the role again. There is no sacrifice of animals, etc.
After the panel, which also confirmed reports that the network talked to the actor John Malkovich about the piece, and is still looking for someone with similar depth to the
“We have an unbelievable season planned,” she says. “I call it the DVR-proof season of ‘CSI’.

TCA – Katie Couric was repeated asked by critics at press tour at the reports that will soon leave his post as anchor of “CBS Evening News.
But I am very committed to the people here and very committed to the product so I can say it is not true.Always evaluate how the program is doing and what direction we go, and then, of course, when you work for an organization, you have the debates in progress. “We have no plans to part company in the short term,” says Couric. “There was a lot of speculative pieces that I think is, frankly, is out of control.
Sometimes we live in a bit of an echo chamber. I spend every day focused on doing the best job possible. What I am focused on and how I can serve 5 million viewers.”I can not control what media writers write communication. It is puzzling to me, the amount of attention I received. I think people in your room and obviously the people here are more fascinated by these things that people in the real world. “I think [the rumors are] off considerably,” he said.
We are focused on our work at this time.So that a discussion CBS, whether corporate or CBS News. CBS News President Sean McManus agreed: “We have no time, we have not had time to think of anything to put in the dissemination of news that best we can, and I think we’re doing that.
Either way, the team was very clear: no change … for nowMost of the rumors have centered around Couric to leave after the November presidential election. His “near future” can be read as qualifying coverage. Evening news ratings have been low since Couric took over the anchor desk a couple of years ago.

TCA – The CBS News team defended their plans to travel extensively cover Barack Obama’s Middle East and Europe next week, sending their anchors stars, along with the candidate
“We have not had a candidate so close to the nomination goes on a trip like this – especially in a war zone.”This has never happened before,” CBS correspondent, said Jeff Greenfield of Obama’s trip.
“I know there has been much discussion about Barack Obama’s upcoming trip,” said Couric. “Publishers, if you look at the fact that there have been questions about his experience in foreign policy and national security expertise, driven largely, quite frankly, by his Republican critics, and the fact that Iraq remains Front and center in terms of how the United States may or may not opt out of that theater, then this is a very important trip in terms of actually being able to pin down, Barack Obama on his foreign policy vision.
“It’s not like going to be,” How do you like the weather in Jordan, senator?”There will be all Obama, all the time,” he added.
Sean McManus, president of CBS News, said: “I would say is the biggest news of the week covered. It is very important trip for us.
But this is great story, and we have to be there and I’m glad Katie is going to do toWe want to be there. It’s one thing to criticize us when they cover news enough – that is when I think criticism is a bit more valid the same. “Face the Nation” anchor Bob Schieffer asked, “What if you change your mind about Iraq after coming into contact with the ground and see what the situation?
CBS News has been criticized by conservatives for its plans to cover Obama’s trip, after having spent considerably less time covering candidate Republican John McCain visits Iraq

No wonder it is ableto pull her out of the wings on fire following collapseMirando los paneles de un ABC dio la impresión de que una porción justa de “Desperate Housewives”, Marc Cherry, creador de tiempo se gasta con tonavigate los hilos sensibilidades en vivo de su elenco.
One critic asked Eva Longoria if the show is insulting to mothers, because her character is shown to gain weight after having children
After his response, Cherry said: “As an insult to mothers, have been in the Midwest
The audience – a reasonable number of whom are from the Midwest – groan angrily disapproval. And its cast, always sensitive to criticism, which flankMidwest insulted. Mothers, insulted.
The length of recovery multifaceted epic, the transcript is after the jump
“I mean, you know, my family is from Oklahoma, and all my aunts will be on our show, and say, ‘Well, yes, if I had to clean a bath and go out and do my husband’s dry cleaning. But I have no time for that.If I had to go out and check on the matter on the farm, yes, I suppose I could get pedicures and manicures and get my hair done.
[Cherry pulling hard on the stick, and still lose altitude rapidly
I had a woman real in my mind. So for me, I actually felt guilty when I got my cast together , because every woman at this stage is her because she was the best who auditioned, but literally I was telling people cast, 'This is not what I had in my mind. "In many ways, the women I know from Oklahoma resent the images that television puts forth because they put forward - consider that unrealistic expectations are placed on them. "
[Cherry, still falling, but not so strong ...
"Because I have a weight problem. " Instead, I went with the best actresses I could get, and then became his own, and I literally spent four years running, "I think there are some real stories of real women suffering that I have not said, because I have a great deal more in the history of television, and I think there are women who are going, there is no one has a weight problem, dammit? "And people always thought, 'Oh God, you're smart to bring the glamorous group of women in a show called" Desperate Housewives.
[Beginning to lift now, has some lift under its wings
"And the honor and respect him."As a man who comes from a family that has that sort of thing for me was a chance to go," Yes, we will have the glamor of it. Now I have to go down to the task of a wife and mother and all the really dirty kind of goes along with that. I think there is something heroic, 'You know what, I've gone through my 20 years in which must be attractive. "My comment is an insult to American women, but quite the opposite. Let's try some real things.
The man earns his money]Housewives flattered. Critics content. [Cherry, up, home free.

TCA – Starting next year, the CW plans to get a jump on competitors by moving the start of the season in the summer programming.
The network is scheduled for release in 2009-10 the alignment of the first week of August, or possibly in late July. As a result, the CW will streamline some of its development and shoot pilots this November
“The idea is just out of the fray and be able to implement at a time when we can bring viewers in, when there is less competition,” said CW Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff at the Television Critics ” annual semi Association press tour. “If you look at the cable, are released in the summer and working for them.
Instead, the CW will launch most of its programs on September 1, still three weeks before the premiere of the typical weekOstroff said to have started the season in the next August, if not tuned in NBC’s Summer Olympics.
In addition, since the CW is targeting young women, the network believes it can attract autumn fashion advertising and the school againHe added that advertisers like the idea of leaving their network competitors as popular media.
The move is the latest attempt by broadcasters to control erosion by changing their production skills of decades-old programming patterns
Fox also plans to launch several major programs this fall during the first week of SeptemberFox, who in recent years has struggled in the fall, has worked with the start of their season before their competitors.
Starting in August will give the network a good start, but could also result in episodes of shows just around April. For the CW, the summer has been an Achilles heel in the network is losing viewers and quiet, without any original programming. Ostoff said the network will air or more reps or fill in the blanks with different shows
At CW’s press tour session, the network also announced that Shannen Doherty will reprise her role as Brenda Walsh on the network much-anticipated “90210.” Doherty returns to West Beverly Hills High School by an arc of several episodes
Ostroff received several questions from the critics ask why the network is scheduling many programs on the rich when the country is reportedly in a recession
“When we are in what is perceived as a recession, it will be entertaining escapist entertainment is what our viewers look for,” Ostroff said
Critics also asked about the reduction of urban comedies on the network, with the other two – “Everybody Hates Chris” and “The Game” – moving from Monday nights to Friday nights this fall as classified under
So it’s hard to go back once we saw that gained strength there.”If you look at ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘One Tree Hill’ during the strike … and get our best Monday night rating ever. “The show would not be in our calendar, if you do not believe in them,” he said.
Friday night “Everybody Hates Chris” and “The Game” debut Oct. 3Thursday night’s “Smallville” and “Supernatural” beginning September 18. The CW will launch its fall season with “Gossip Girl” and “One Tree Hill” on Monday, September 1, followed by “90210″ on Sept. 2 (accompanied by “privileged” on September 9;) ” America’s Next Top Model “on September 3 (accompanied by” Stylista “joining the night on 29 October).
The block of Sunday night programmed by Media Rights Capital, will launch during the week of the fall premiere of normal. reality series “In Harms Way” begins Sept. 21 at 7 pm, goes to 6:30 on November 2. The half-hour comedy “Surviving Suburbia” starts Nov. 2 at 7:30 pm one-hour romantic comedy “Valentine” premieres September 21 at 8 pm The one-hour drama “Easy Money” premieres 21 September at 9 pm
If a program is canceled, the decision will be made by both companies.Although MRC release dates were announced in a separate press release, Ostroff said that viewers will not discern a difference in the air between CW and MRC programming.
“It will be totally transparent,” he said. “We will promote it on Sunday night. Sunday night will be promoting with the rest of our week.

TCA – Because he has gone from NBC’s “Life” long before the platform due to the writers strike, producers are approaching the second season if the first
We are relaunching the series and will be a pilot. If you’ve never seen the show before, you can come to this episode and instantly a day. “Our first episode of this season is a kind of pilot. “We are re-launching the program,” Life “creator Rand Ravich said.
When “Life” premieres on September 29, the NBC show will have more time – on Monday at 10 pm after “Heroes” – before moving to its regular schedule
Meanwhile, “Chuck” creator Josh Schwartz was asked if he was bothered by the schedule of NBC’s “Chuck” at night the same time Monday that its CW program “Gossip Girl.
But it is a high class problem to have, and we hope that both programs will be able to find an audience and survive.”It’sa good problem to have, but I do not have to do that,” he says. “I begged everyone involved to avoid this problem.
Added “Chuck” star Zach Levi: “I think people who are really into ‘Gossip Girl’ is really ‘Gossip Girl’, and people who arereally in ‘Chuck’ will leave ‘Gossip Girl’.
For the appearance of Nicole Richie “Chuck” is planning a epicfight scene between Richie and Yvonne Strahovski located in a high schoolshower
“Nicole Richie is playing a super villain and has a bad ass fight sequence with Yvonne enough where they are attacking each other with pipes and plumbing,” says Schwartz. “The old high school shower becomes a seriously wet showdown.

TCA – By James Hibberd and Barry Garron
Sci Fi Channel’s “Battlestar Galactica” prequel “Caprica” might not air as a backdoor pilot after all
You can go directly to the series
“Let’s take a look at it and maybe just for a series there. We will take possession of it in a couple of weeks and then decide if the air as an independent film or the release of a new series.”We’re not sure if it goes to air as a backdoor pilot,” says executive vice president of Sci Fi Channel programming Mark Stern at the Television Critics Association press tour.
Sci Fi had a group of “Caprica” on the network’s TCA session, in executive producer Ron Moore and cast members took the stage to answer questions from critics. Indeed, the panels act only on a pilot tour of the critics suggest the enthusiasm for the project networkThe project has been called a back door when two pilots, and is supposed to air sometime this fall. An update to a series order is likely to push the date of issue until next year, a spokeswoman for Sci Fi, he says.
Moore says that no matter what people already know how the story ends prequel. In fact, he is counting on that to add suspense
You know the Nazis are going to lose. But that does not mean they can not compelling storytelling.”All this – this world is about to visit – is doomed to failure, in one way or form. You know how it turns the Second World War. “The tension comes from the fact that you know where to go,” he says.
In addition, there will be flash-forwards in the current series (“intercutting the two are very oil and water,” he says)”Caprica” takes place 51 years before the events in “Galactica,” and the 12 colonies did not always peaceful coexistence.
“This is a vibrantsociety which is at the height of its power and height itsdecadence.’s It was really a piece.Going to come apart. It has a completely different tone, completely different mood, a completely different way storytelling. is very different shot, and I think that particularly attracted me to the idea of making a work of science fiction that is not built on a foundation of action and adventure. It’s like a roller coaster. It was not snakes and was not attacked the Cylons every two weeks. “‘Caprica’ is a different animal,” he says.
The action must be firmly grounded in the world of lots rather than space-based Caprica jump between different locations.Executive producer David Eick said in newshow technological emphasis will be on artificial intelligence instead of space travel
“That’s what’s new in this show, rather than space travel, which is taken as an existing technology,” says Eick
“It is mostly going to be [set in] an urban city,” added Moore
While not an actor playing a very young William Adama, other characters and their families do not regularly appear in Series
“I would expect that you may not do that,” says Moore
Also: Sci Fi also announced three new series – see story here THR.com

TCA – NBC co-chairman Ben Silverman says the network is not only doing a Greg Daniels comedy starring Amy Poehler, but also continue with a separate “Office” spin-off
Amy will never appear in the world of ‘The Office’. “They came with two ideas,” says Silverman. “One who is totally a spinoff and planted in ‘The Office’ and may involved characters from” The Office. It does not come directly from the world ‘The Office’.”The other is a new concept that has set up a similar style to” The Office. “Decided to put all our energy into getting Amy. literally chased her throughout the year and it’s amazing that it can be to their land. The show is a spin-off.
Saying: “We will also continue to pursue the spin-off, well,” says Silverman
After panel, Silverman says the spinoff include a pair cast members “The Office” and new couples “Office” cast members be introduced into original series solely purpose change the new show. Silverman noted the split will not be a workplace comedy itself. But otherwise remained silent on the concept
Silverman said he sees “The Office” as a franchise similar toSaturday Night Live “- a group of players that can be expanded andplugged in various types of entertainment media
The network has not yet decided what will air in the slot, but could still be some iteration of “The Office. In addition, those who no longer show Poehler debut after the Super Bowl from pregnant actress has pushed back start date display.
“We’re trying to build a creative greenhouse around ‘The Office’” says Silverman
