CODE Source Duncan Jones’ to open the SXSW Film Festival 2011

Like almost anyone who saw the moon, I can not wait to see what Jones has withdrawn from it, and the trailer makes the film look smart and intense.Directed by Duncan Jones (Luna), the film follows a soldier (Jake Gyllenhaal) who wakes up in the body of a stranger and keeps reliving the last eight minutes of life of man to discover who was responsible for attack a train in an attempt to prevent the next attack the attacker. We received a press release announcing that the sci-fi thriller Source Code will open the 2011 South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) Film.

The South by Southwest Film Festival and Conference runs March 11 to 19, 2011 in Austin, Texas.Austin, Texas – December 16, 2010 – Today, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival and Conference announced it will host the world premiere of Summit Entertainment film source for Opening Night 2011. Intelligent action thriller is the second film of SXSW alum Duncan Jones (Luna), and stars Jake Gyllenhaal (Love and other drugs, “Brokeback Mountain”), Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye, expiration date), Vera Farmiga (up in the air, The Departed) and Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, Syriana).
On a mission unlike any he has known, he learns that he is part of a government experiment called the “source code”, a program that allows you to cross to the identity of another man in the last 8 minutes of your life. When Captain Colter decorated soldier Stevens (Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, discovers he is part of a mission to find the terrorist in a Chicago commuter train. With a second goal, much bigger threat to kill millions of people in downtown Chicago, Colter relives the incident again and again, the collection of tracks each time, until you can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.
Produced by Mark Gordon Company, and by Vendome Pictures, the film was produced by Mark Gordon and Jordan Wynn Philippe Rousselet, with Hawk Koch, Jeb Brody, and Fabrice Gianfermi production executive.Opening theaters nationwide on April 1, 2011, the film was written by Ben Ripley.
