AMPTP president named Carol Lombardini

LOS ANGELES – A veteran negotiator Carol Lombardini has been named president of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), the trading industry’s representative in labor negotiations with the industry associations of cinema and unions in the United States and Canada
As AMPTP President, Lombardini will serve as the chief negotiator for the industry in more than 80 collective bargaining agreements and industry wide, on behalf of more than 350 films and television producersLombardini has played an important role in the guild of over 300 contracts and negotiations of the Union throughout his career of 27 years in the AMPTP.
“On behalf of the AMPTP companies, we are very pleased that Carol will be the next president of the AMPTP,” said Barry Meyer, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. “She has a proven track record as a negotiator, a thorough knowledge of issues and excellent working relationships throughout the industry guilds, unions and business members alike. With almost three decades of experience in the AMPTP, we are confident that Carol’s transition will be easy and that she will be strong leader these changing times require.
Lombardini was appointed Acting President in April 2009 following the retirement of former President Nick Counter. Lombardini has also served as General Counsel for the AMPTP, the provision of legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements and industry wide and obligations under federal and state labor and employment lawLombardini has subsequently negotiated new collective bargaining agreements with the Screen Actors Guild (Television Animation), Teamsters Local 399 (Location Managers), IATSE 839, IATSE 764, the BC Council and the Directors Guild of Canada. Since joining the AMPTP in 1982, Lombardini has served as a lawyer, Vice President, Legal Affairs, Senior Vice President Legal and Business Affairs, and Executive Vice President Legal and Business Affairs.
