Alex Proyas to produce and possibly direct AMP
The director Alex Proyas (know) will produce and possibly direct an adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson ’s next novel sci-fi thriller, Amp. Proyas is set to begin filming Dracula: Year Zero in Australia next June with Sam Worthington in the title role. When Steve spoke with producer Mike De Luca on the film earlier this year, Lucas described the film as “literally on the scale of Dracula Braveheart.” Luca said the film also includes a host of supernatural action and would be an epic love “story.”
Proyas is currently in charge of running a 3D adaptation of John Milton’s Paradise Lost for Warner Bros. The 17-century epic poem is Satan’s temptation of Adam and Eve and the final expulsion of the couple from the Garden of Eden but for some reason this movie planned will be designed as a vehicle for action that include the air war.
