20 animated films competing for Oscars 2009

The Academy of Arts and Sciences said today
Beverly Hills, CA – Twenty features were submitted for consideration in the animated film category features for 82 Academy Awards ®
The 20 characteristics are presented
Alvin and the Chipmunks Astro Boy Conquest Disney Rain, A Christmas Carol Coraline meatballs Dolphin – Story of a Dreamer Fantastic Mr. Fox Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Mary and Max Lynx Monsters vs. Aliens Lost Planet 51 9 Ponyo The Princess and the Frog The Secret of Kells Tinker Bell and the lost treasure called U panic in the city
Under the rules of this category, out of a maximum of five characteristics can be nominated in a year in which the body of eligible entries numbers at least 16. Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Dolphin – Story of a Dreamer, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Planet 51, The Princess and the Frog, The Secret of Kells and a call panic in the city have not had the necessary qualifying run in Los Angeles . Posted characteristics shall meet the requirements of theatrical and meet all other requirements of the rules of the category before they can advance in the voting process. The films presented in the animated film category features can also qualify for Academy Awards in other categories, including Best Picture, provided they meet the requirements for categories
The 82 Oscar nominations will be announced on Tuesday, 02 February 2010, at 5:30 pm PT at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater Academy. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2009 will be presented on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre
